Lindsay's Second 5th Birthday

We had Lindsay's party this Sunday with her Kindergarten class. Even though her actual birthday was last month, we waited to have her My Gym party until she started school and could invite her class. A good time was had by all!

Hayden's Flag Football Practice

Here are some pictures of Hayden in action out on the flag football field. Ryan is the Head Coach and I am the Business Manager for the team. We are the Bears. They are currently practicing three days a week and have their first game on September 20. It's a lot of fun, but a lot of work for Ryan and me. The paperwork and politics for a six-year-olds sport is out of control!

Lindsay's 5th Birthday

Lindsay celebrated her 5th birthday on August 3rd. Here are a couple of shots of her "Pink Party". She adopted two twins that day, the American Girl Itty Bitty Twins, she named Emmy and Ethan!

The First Day of School

August 7th was Lindsay's first day of Kindergarten and Hayden's first day of first grade at Desert Willow Elementary School. Here are a couple of shots taken on days 1and 2. Lindsay was very excited to start her year off with Ms. Scherf, the same teacher Hayden had last year. About ten minutes before we left for school, the school called to let us know Lindsay had been placed in the Spanish Immersion class. She broke down into tears because she had her heart set on being in her brother's old class. We took her to school kicking and screaming, however, as soon as she entered her classroom and saw the class pet, a rabbit named Oreo, her mood quickly changed. We left her with a big smile on her face. Speaking of smile, this was the first year Hayden went to his first day of school with a big smile rather than tears. He was so brave and confident. We were very proud of him! He is very excited to have his sister on campus with him now. They enjoy bumping into each other in the hallways and at assemblies. It's nice knowing they are there together.

Our Sedona Vacation

We took a four night trip to Sedona with a travel trailer we rented through Cruise America. We had a fun time doing all of the usual camping things and hanging out at Oak Creek. Ryan and Hayden had fun fly fishing while Lindsay and I hung out on the banks of the creek and took in the beautiful surroundings. It was a fun adventure to remember!

Ryan's 34th Birthday

The kids made Daddy a special golf course cake for his birthday on June 9. They surprised him by decorating the apartment with balloons and a handmade banner. They were very busy kids!

A Day on Lake Mead

On June 6, we spent some time on Grandpa's boat out on Lake Mead. Each of the kids tried tubing for the first time. Bryce and I even broke out the old wakeboard to prove to ourselves we still had the skills after all these years! We watched a dozen big horn sheep eat their lunch while we ate ours and the kids got to drive the boat. It was a fun adventure and we hope to be able to do it again real soon.
